September 30th, Deadline for Nominating Committee Sign-Ups
Our alumnae chapter has elections just like collegiate chapters - with a Nominating Committee! Help us select a new slate of DC Alumnae Chapter Officers. We’re looking for 3-6 Thetas to commit to a few hours on a weekend in October, either in-person or over the phone. This is a great way to make a huge impact without a huge time commitment. If interested, please email Chrystelle Zweidler Rowley at czweidler@gmail.com by September 30.

September 30th, deadline for Interest Indicators for D.C. Theta board

Do you want to meet new people, volunteer more, take on a leadership role, and be more involved in Theta? Then being a DC Theta board member might be perfect for you! We’re having our board elections this fall and are looking for women who would like to serve as officers in 2017-2018. The time commitment varies by role and the season, but most board members devote about 4-6 hours per month in their position. That’s what makes volunteering for Theta so special: there is a job for everyone, regardless of her schedule. No prior experience on a board is necessary.
If interested, please complete an in terest indicator form, found on our website at www.DCThetas.org. Interest Indicators are due by September 30. Nom Com will meet in October and new officers will be installed by November 1.

October 31st-- Sign up for Salvation Army Angel Tree Presents
Every Christmas there are children who do not receive gifts because their families are struggling financially. The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program has been running for over 30 years to ensure that these children have a wonderful holiday season with
their families. In 2016, 13,500 children in the area received gifts. For the third year in a row, DC Thetas will support the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program.

If you’re interested in buying a gift, please email me at jessica.staskal@gmail.com by October 31, 2017. Then, I’ll send out information about our “Angel” and what’s on their wish list and you’ll tell me which present you’d like to purchase! Gifts are due
to me by Friday, November 17. I’ll collect all the gifts and drop them off at the Salvation Army.

If you can’t purchase gifts but would like to help, you can donate to help us buy more presents for our Angels! Checks can be made out to “DC Kappa Alpha Theta Alumnae Chapter” and mailed to me at: Jess Staskal | 701 2nd St NE Apt 443 | Washington, DC 20002.
